A spicy, tangy green chili sauce used as a condiment for many Somali dishes, adding heat and brightness.
Ingredients:
- 4 green jalapeños, stemmed
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves
- ½ cup fresh cilantro
- ¼ cup white vinegar
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- ½ tablespoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Preparation (10 minutes):
- Blend: Combine jalapeños, onion, garlic, cilantro, vinegar, lime juice, and salt in a blender. Blend until smooth.
- Adjust: Taste and adjust salt or lime juice. Stir in olive oil.
- Serve: Serve as a condiment with muufo, suqaar, or sambuus.
