Ingredients:
- 12 oz spaghetti or penne
- 1 lb ground beef or chicken
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: 1 bell pepper, chopped
Preparation:
- Cook pasta: Boil pasta in salted water according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Cook sauce: Heat oil in a skillet. Sauté onion until soft. Add beef or chicken, tomatoes, cumin, paprika, salt, pepper, and bell pepper (if using). Cook 10 minutes until meat is done.
- Combine: Toss pasta with sauce.
- Serve: Serve hot, optionally with a side of banana (a Somali tradition).
