Ingredients:
- 8 spring roll or wonton wrappers
- ½ lb ground beef or mixed vegetables
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon ground coriander
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (plus more for frying)
- Optional: 1 green chili, chopped
Preparation:
- Cook filling: Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a skillet. Sauté onion until soft. Add beef or vegetables, cumin, coriander, salt, pepper, and chili (if using). Cook until browned or softened. Cool slightly.
- Assemble: Place 1 tablespoon filling in the center of each wrapper. Fold into a triangle, sealing edges with water.
- Fry: Heat 2 inches of oil to 350°F. Fry sambusas 2-3 minutes per side until golden. Drain on paper towels.
- Serve: Serve with chutney or yogurt dip.
