Chapati

Chapati is a soft, layered flatbread with Indian influence, used to scoop stews or eaten with tea, common for supper.

Ingredients

All-purpose flour (2 cups)

Water (3/4 cup)

Oil (2 tablespoons)

Salt (1/2 tablespoon)

Preparation

Mix flour and salt, add 1 tablespoon oil and water to form a soft dough.

Knead for 5-7 minutes.

Divide into 6 balls, roll each into a thin circle.

Heat a skillet, cook each chapati for 1-2 minutes per side until golden spots appear, brushing with oil.

Serve with stews or beans.
